Steadfast • Compassionate • Resourceful
LaWanda walks alongside clients as they navigate barriers to quality mental health care, offering personalized advocacy, trusted support, and culturally responsive resource navigation. With a background in human services, AODA, and clinical social work, she brings both technical knowledge and lived empathy to her role. As Mental Health Navigator, LaWanda builds soft hand-off systems, strengthens community partnerships, and helps clients transition seamlessly between services. Her work is grounded in the belief that healing begins with access—and that access begins with someone who refuses to give up on you.
LaWanda's Story
LaWanda (she/her) is the Mental Health Navigator for We All Rise. Having always been in positions of client service, when the opportunity was presented, it was time to shift career goals to serve the greater need within the community. To be fundamental in supporting those who face the barriers of personal success on a daily basis. The journey began with an associate degree in Human Services and AODA, followed by a Bachelor's in Psychology and a Master's in Clinical Social Work. After serving as an intern with We All Rise AARC in their transitional living program at All Seasons Transformation, it became like a second home. Walking alongside our participants and advocating for change where many see it as impossible.
Alongside the mission and goals of We All Rise, assisting people to overcome barriers to quality care, and understand the resources available, provides my community with more successful transitions of care, and direct one to one support. I look forward to continuing to build on the legacy of We All Rise providing the highest quality of advocacy, mental health and wellbeing of those I am privileged to assist.
